Name: Storm Heavy Havoc Helix Firestorm Raider / Helix the Traveler
Age: Stopped counting after reaching 700
Gender: Male
Race: Dragon/Spider/Machine
Home Continent: N/A
Class: TANK
Character Alignment: Neutral (Mixed alignment)
Class Statistics Bonus: TANK
I See Your Face
[/b][/u]Character Personality:
Despite being somewhat old in age, Helix is still somewhat unpredictable, moody and somewhat eccentric in nature. He could easily cross the emotional spectrum should he be provoked in less time than it takes to open a can of beans, making him somewhat of an oddball to deal with at times. While he does possess a somewhat superior knowledge of metallurgy thanks to his lifetime of working in the forge, his other social skills have somewhat suffered, making it hard for him sometimes to socialise with others. This leaves him somewhat of a social outcast, which, in turn, has only further led him down a path of eccentricity, preferring his own company or the company of his most trusted allies over the company of his colleges and fellow workers. When he does speak on something, he might make sense or he might just be talking rubbish, only adding frustration and confusion to a somewhat already awkward being. Even with all this working against him, he will make some attempt to socialise with other beings (after all, at some point in his travels, he will need to interact with storekeepers to restore his depleted supplies).
Quirks:
- Has a good head for metalworking and metallurgy
- Can understand a level of strategy when one is required
- Likes nature to a degree (a good thing due to his namesake)
- Respects relics (such as ancient armour, weapons and actual points of interest)
- Can (thankfully) hold his own in a fight
- Possesses a silent knowledge that doesnt really show itself in obvious ways
Flaws:
- Finds it hard sometimes to interact with others on certain matters
- He dislikes (to a point of almost hating) being thanked by others, he prefers to stay out of the spotlight, he does what he does without reason or a need for thanking
- Can sometimes miss the punch line of a joke
- Can have a somewhat bad sense of humour at times
- While being able to hit his intended target with a ranged weapon, his aim is never perfect, meaning he strikes his target like lightning, never hitting the same place twice (unless it was a lucky fluke)
Character Appearance
Head and Face
Most of the left side of his face is covered by a brass face plate that hides an unknown injury from the world; this aesthetic piece is simple in design and function. As part of the design for this face plate, it covers his left eye. It is unknown whether the left eye is there or not, but the inkling idea of there being an eye there is created by a simple piece of black glass which seems to give the appearance of absorbing any light that touches the glass.
He has iron grey hair which he has chosen to grow. Its entire length ends just past his upper back, he keeps his hair tied up, either in a simple pony tail, or depending on the circumstances, braided with a single rose tied into the end of the braid. This rose is not a normal rose but one forged from the purest of copper, polished to an almost mirror sheen.
His right eye, the single eye that can be seen by the world is of an earthly brown.
Body
His natural scale colour is that of silver.
While he travels a lot and works the forge from time to time, he is somewhat a little on the heavy side, possessing a body that is not overly fat, but not well toned either. He is probably a good example of the old saying more to love. Despite his somewhat large body size, he possesses strength and speed surprising for someone of his size and weight.
On the upper part of his right arm, he carries the eight pointed star of chaos, a mark that has been with him for as long as he can remember. The stars meaning having a greater significance to him than what most people have come to understand of the mark.
He purposely keeps his hand claws trimmed short, each black nail being cut right down to the finger itself. While it may rob him of a natural weapon, the short length allows him to give a firmer grip that what would be normally possible should his claws be of a natural length. It is for this very reason that he keeps his claws short.
Clothing
He has a tendency to wear simple yet functional clothing, often opting for a simple shirt, pants and floor length tabard, all in black. Most of the time, he will also wear a belt to which much of his light gear is attached to (such as pouches and weapon sheathes). Despite this being a somewhat default choice for him, he will wear formal clothing when required or appropriate clothing for the terrain he walks, partially to shield himself from the elements, partially to hide his augmentations that allow him to survive in the most hostile environments possible to imagine (this also includes space).
Come Back ToMe
[/b][/u]Physical Abilities:
-Natural Armour-
Scales make good armour, especially when tempered with age. Helixs scales give him the equivalent protection of a good suit of chain armour.
[+] +15 damage resistance
-Metallurgy-
Helix is a master of metallurgy. His knowledge comes from centuries of experience working in the forges and foundries of his home world. Using his knowledge in metallurgy, Helix can improve the damage melee weapons caused (thrown weapons such as axes and knives and projectile weapons such as arrows count in this category as well) or the defensive properties of armour worn. This can be a great benefit for his allies, but not so for Helix, his own weapons and armour are already at the peak of his metallurgical achievement.
[+] +20 ally weapon damage
[+] +15 ally damage resistance
[-] Bonuses do not apply to Helix
-Natural Resistance-
Year of being stung by venomous creatures and scrapes from poisonous plants have hardened Helixs immune system to the point where he simply no longer feels the effect of poisons or toxins that enter his bloodstream.
[+] Poison/toxin immunity
Magical Abilities:-
Weapons:[INCLUDE, STAT BONUSES, DAMAGE RATIOS AND DESCRIPTION]
-Relix Axe-
A faithful weapon in Helixs armoury that has yet to fail him in a fight. Once a simple battle axe, time and Helixs continual attentions have honed this once humble weapon into something fit for a god of mythology to wield. Its edge has been honed to a sharpness unseen in any other weapons and the rumours surrounding this weapon make it sound like it was a gift from the gods themselves. In any case, this two handed weapon is Helixs most prized possession.
[+] 20 damage
[+] Ignores 5 points of armour rating
-Throwing Axes (Francisca)-
Helixs other standard kit weapon. Each axe has been hand forged from meteoric iron, giving it a strength unseen in other iron type weapons. The perfect weapon for Helix to use when faced with an enemy who refuses to engage in hand to hand combat.
[+] 10 damage
[+] Enemies struck by this axe suffer a -5 to their armour rating for a single turn (as they are forced to decide whether to leave the axe imbedded in the area in question or attempt to remove it from their persons)
-Hand Axes (Bearded Axe)-
Helix carries around with him two bearded axes forged from the same meteoric iron used in his throwing axes. While not as large as his relic axe, they are none the less devastating in close combat. By wielding two of these axes, Helix is able to defend himself from two directions much easier than if he was using his larger relic axe.
[+] 10 damage
[+] Ignores 5 points of armour rating
Battle Discipline:
Helix is by no means a trained fighter, his only experience coming from the multiple battlefields that he has managed to survive. Due to this, he can seem somewhat undisciplined in a fight, throwing wild blows that could cleave a mountain in two but lack the finesse or skill of a true trained fighter. Despite this, he will fight with some brains behind the tactic, throwing axes at ranged enemy and engaging in melee combat against melee enemies or mixing up his battle styles in an attempt at keeping his opponent off balance (throwing an axe in melee combat for example).
Character Accessories:
-Tome of Iron-
Representing the cumulative lifes work of Helix, the Tome of Iron contains all his knowledge and experience into the physical and metaphysical properties of different types of metal.
[+] +5 Armour rating
[+] +5 Damage
-Log of the Traveler-
This journal contains the multiple travels that Helix has undertaken, some with purpose, some to explore, others just to wander the lands he encounters. Also contained in its pages are practical first hand experiences on survival techniques in the lands he has encountered.
[+] +5 Intelligence
-Journeymans Armour-
Light, flexible armour made from the lightest of metals known to man. Perfect for one who travels the land.
[+] 10 Armour rating
-Pouches-
Helix wears on his belt, multiple pouches into which he stores many of his smaller items that he continually uses. Mostly, his belt holds his throwing axes and tools he uses to maintain his weapons and even create new weapons from the raw resources surrounding him.
[+] +5 Intelligence
-Travelling Kit-
A small pack containing enough essentials for one to survive in the wilderness for a couple of weeks, far away from any kind or form of civilisation.
[+] Restores 20HP upon use
-The Copper Rose-
A single rose forged from copper and polished to mirror sheen. Usually, its either kept in a pouch on Helixs belt or worked into his braided hair.
[+] +5 Faith
-Icons of Warding/Protective Charms-
Small enough not to be noticed yet significant enough for Helix to never travel anywhere without them, these wards and charms serve to protect Helix from malign attack inflicted on him by the enemy.
[+] Status change immunity
[-] Unable to receive friendly status changes while carrying the wards and charms

History
Helix wasnt always like this, he was once human long time ago, an old feeble man searching for a way to extend his life and perhaps, return to the forge where he loved to be. An experimental procedure gave him the chance to return to his life at the forge, though the cost to his humanity was far greater than anyone could comprehend. To him, it was a price worth paying. For decades, he endured the multiple procedures inflicted on him, slowly changing him into the being he is today. At the time, he was the pinnacle of science, yet, for all their achievements in cybernetics, bio-manipulation and gene therapy, he was a failed experiment. A failed attempt at creating a super soldier for some unknown foreign power. Ridiculed for his nature, they tried to exterminate him, wipe him off the face of the galaxy, yet Helix refused to submit. He reasoned that even as a failed experiment, he still had a right to continue to exist in the galaxy. Despite his strength of mind and body, the seeds of doubt had been sown in his mind.
Official history would state that their purge of their failed experiment had been successful, in truth though, he simply slipped off the face of the earth, keeping a low profile, and he learned a few tricks that helped him survive the initial years on his own without any kind of resource available to him. He returned to his life at the forge, though this would be temporary at times, only remaining in one place for a few days before disappearing off into the nearby wilderness. Eventually, even those who created him finally forgot about their failed experiment.
Chance decided to play a cruel twist of fate to Helix. A long story short, Helix was forced into a temporal loop and eventually ejected into the year of 800BC. What might have driven one insane from the change in environment, Helix took it in his strike, realizing that this could be the perfect chance to prevent the program to develop a weapon of war. Even so, he made sure to keep a careful account of his actions during these ages, manipulating events as they should have occurred in history, ensuring that events would proceed down a slightly different path to the one he once lived in.
Role Play Sample
The heat was unbearable to one not wearing some kind of heavy clothing, but for Helix, the heat didnt bother him in the least. He had been augmented to survive in worse environments than this, and even then, his mind was focused on the task of pouring out the raw molten iron into their moulds, ready for further refinement into pure iron ingots, ready for smithing. For many, it wasnt glorious work, but for Helix, it was something that fascinated him, the very life blood of the earth cooling in front of his eyes, forming the metals that he worked with in a previous existence, and still worked with even to this day.
It was easy for him to ignore the others around him, his passion for metal was far stronger than what many could have come to assume. It was what he lived for. From the bronze to the iron and soon, the steel what would be the future, he would treat each metal with respect, he felt that when one smiths the ingot into its final form, the smith was transferring a part of his soul into his very creation. Even if his respect wasnt spiritual, he still had a physical respect for the metal he worked with, despite being augmented with arcane sciences, even molten metal could cause serious harm to even one such as him.
He looked up at the roof of the foundry, his mind slowly wandering as he contemplated the events of the past and the possibilities of the future. Maybe one day I will return back to the woods. He smiled to himself as he remembered his dual loyalties to forge and nature. It was something that had been forged over time during his years of exile. Maybe tomorrow will be that day. He looked back down at the cooling ingots, his fingers gently touching the still heated metal, while far from molten; it was still hot enough to cause a normal man to flinch away in pain. Helix barely registered the feeling, his life spent in the forge had dulled the feeling of pain in his hands enough. He was somewhat proud of the formation of the raw iron, it was perfect in its own state, though far from superior to the meteoric iron that he worked with a long time ago.
Tomorrow is that day. He pulled a single ingot out of the mould, letting the warm metal rest in his hands. His payment for refining the iron to a workable state.
