[/b][/u]Character Personality: This young man is a complicated one By most standards he is quite laid back, and will not give a second thought to just chilling under a tree somewhere with his guitar and a note pad. But there is also another side to him, and this can come out in the most random of situations, two words, Adrenalin Junky. He loves the thrill of doing something daring to the borderline point of crazy. He has been asked on a number of occasions, after doing some of these things, if he had a death wish, and his response was always the same, what’s the point in living without taking a few risks.
That pretty much sums up Karrl, but there is a third side to him which will come out now and again. This side he has is the side of a philosopher. When the mood takes him he can be a very deep and meaningful person, and when the time is right he might come out with a saying or two which would make most people stop to think about it. To put it simply, and in words Karrl has said before he can go from a scatterbrain to a philosopher in philosopher in 0.5 seconds.
Quirks: Funny, Charming, Laid Back, Charismatic, Playful.
Flaws: Arrogant, Prideful, Egotistical, Stubborn.
Character Appearance[Karrl stands at six foot exactly and weighs in at two hundred and ten pounds of toned goodness. His build is something some bodybuilders have spent all of the life trying to achieve, because it is muscular but not overly so. His skin is a deep olive colour, about the same tone as the average Hispanic. Karrl’s hair is like all of the Monks of Kalvosh. When they are accepted into the order as apprentices, they go through a ritual, which, when finished will turn their hair silvery grey. When they are first accepted they are shaven bald but after that day they will never cut their hair, and will almost always keep in a braid, his hair, reaches the middle of his back. His garbs are also of his order, the upper layer is a long, flowing, hooded, robe, which are black in colour with silver runes carved woven into the fabric, they design of the robes are almost Celtic in design. Underneath the robes is a tunic, pair of trousers and boots all black in colour with the same silver runes woven into the fabrics.

To most communally known is energy manipulation; however, there are two more areas where a Monk of Kalvosh is trained in. The first of these is in a form of unarmed fighting, which not only helps them fight in a defensive manner, but also is used as a meditative art which helps them with their energy manipulation. The third area is duel weapons training, more so, the Kalvoshi Twin Sabres. Karrl may have just left apprentice level, but he is as skilled a fighter as most out there.
Effects: Due to the way he was trained, and both Kalvoshi forms of fighting is based around self-defence he gains twenty additional points to his base defence.
Anti-Magic - [Passive] - Due to his dislike of magic and magic users he had trained himself hard in certain techniques in energy manipulation. Due to this hard training he has become so skilled in one of them that he can keep it up without even breaking a sweat. This technique is the ability to coat his skin in his own energies so he can protect himself against magical attacks.
Effect: Due to this he gains an additional ten points to his magical defence.
Screech - [MP Cost: 10] - This is an interesting little technique. Focusing on his vocal chords he uses his energy manipulation to increase them to the point of breaking. Once he has done that he lets out a focused high pitch screech and his enemies.
Effects: Causes silence on one person. Will last for five turns, can be healed with a spell or item.
Magical Abilities: Due to his personal choices he has vowed never to use magic.
Weapons: Kalvoshi Sabres - The Kalvoshi Sabres are a pair of twin short sabres. They are slightly smaller than standard sized weapons along this line but are made of a light but strong materials. Due to the light martials they are made from they can move as fast as the user can move them, and with the same speed and skill as fencers. Along, on the blades there are carvings which are Celtic in look, within those carvings anti-magic energy is lined into them.

Battle Discipline: Kalvoshi Arts - He has been trained the in Kalvoshi Arts, which means he fights mainly in a defensive manner, but can attack. The unarmed form of this art is sort of a cross between Chi Kung and Wing Chun. The armed for of this art is similar to the way people who practice Wushu use them, based around speed and skill more than brute ability. The art the blends his unarmed and armed fighting styles is energy manipulation. Energy Manipulation is the ability to use to internal forces within himself to enhance his abilities, this could be utilised in many different ways, such as his ability to enhance his vocal chords or naturally coat his skin in energy to protect himself against magic.
Character Accessories: Amulet of Kalvosh - This item is given to a monk upon completing his training as an apprentice. It is actually quite plain in look, with the same sort of carvings that are on his blades. History Karrl was born in a small village in Anatola, however at the young age of three his life would change forever. His parents were visiting some friends in a nearby village, leaving Karrl with a sitter. On the way back they were set upon by a black mage, who went by the name of Marvorn Kinvensi, however, to this day he does not know the true identity of this man.
It seemed like he would be on his own, or worse, sent to a child labour camp to work. However, a monk was passing through the village and as soon as he saw Karrl, he gasped. He approached them, and asked about the child’s family, he was told about what had happened. As soon as the monk found out Karrl was an orphan he stepped forward and told them he would bring him to the Temple of Kalvosh. This surprised the people around him, since, it was rare people were accepted into the temple. They gave Karrl to the monk and with that he was taken to the Temple of Kalvosh, which is built in the heart of a large forest.
Over the years he was trained in the Kalvoshi arts, a set of fighting skills handed down by the first monk Varoon Kalvosh. Over the years he learnt how to fight with his fists and feet, fight with the Kalvoshi Sabres, and more so, he learnt who to use energy manipulation. One of the areas he trained in most when it came to energy manipulation with the areas he could use to fight again mages and kill them with ease, he had almost trained himself to become the perfect mage hunter. Other than training and the festering hatred of magic users, there is nothing really to speak about when it comes to his life. He did not make any friends at the temple, he did not make any enemies either, no rivals, no one he saw as an equal, worse, or better, he just dove into training, and training alone.
At the age of sixteen he finished his years as an apprentice, which was suprising, because most people did not finished the apprenticeship with the monks until they were at least twenty one. There was two reasons behind this; one, the fact that he did nothing but sleep, eat and train, and two, the reason why he was brought into the order in the first place. An apprentice is brought into the order when a monk deems him worthy, and that his based around the energy within the child, Karrl was born with more natural energy that some of the fully trained monks who reside within the Temple.
So, now that he had finished his apprenticeship he was sent away from the temple, to finish his last years of training, the last years of training are neither as an apprentice or a full monk, but it is to help them learn how to use their skills in their own way, so, when they return the skills they bring will strengthen the Temple. Before leaving he was given the tools to survive, his robe, which would go over his normal clothing, his Kalvoshi Sabres, and the amulet which would help him along the way.
Role Play Sample Karrl had been sitting in the tavern, finishing up his Rolanberry Juice when his ears pricked up. He heard a commotion outside, but, at first decided to have none of it. He had an idea of what was going on, despite the nice reputation of Balamb; there were some nasty elements to it none the less. He would have, if the next day was not his SeeD exam, gone out and dealt with the situation quickly and cleanly. However, it was his SeeD exam the next day, so he was not planning on dealing with the situation in anyway at all.
However the situation seemed to be getting out of hand, since a number of the patrons seemed to have more of a curious nature than Karrl. He looked over at Frank who had gotten out his bat and was about to deal with the situation himself. Karrl sighed and raised his hand towards Frank. The tavern’s owner took the signal as to back down and let Karrl deal with it. Karrl did not want to, but he would rather go out there, as a highly trained swordsman and energy manipulator than let an old man with a bat go out there and take care of it. He had no doubt Frank could take care of himself, but there was something that told Karrl that this was no mere drunken fight.
Sighing just before he drained the glass of Rolanberry Juice dry he stood up and cracked his neck a couple of times and then his knuckles, in the same way he always did, first on the left and then on the right, one knuckle at a time and then all together. He looked at Frank one last time and gave him a courteous nod before turning away and followed a few of the patrons out as well. What he saw surprised him slightly, even though he hid it well, a young looking woman kicking the shit out of a drunk. He was not sure what had happened, not in detail, so he asked around.
